My most memorable Elon experience was definitely studying abroad during Winter-Term my first year. Through the Honors Fellows Program, I was given the opportunity to take a course in history, religion, and the classics, moving throughout Sicily and the Italian peninsula. We got to see beautiful coastal cities as well as Rome, the Vatican, Naples, and Venice. My favorite place I got to see was a coastal town called Cefalu, where we hiked a mountain to see the castle ruins at the top. The view was amazing!
My favorite tradition at Elon is College Coffee. Every Tuesday morning for about forty minutes, free coffee is provided to students and faculty, and mingling between the two different groups is encouraged. I love this tradition so much because I get to interact with faculty members that I may have never met, and who doesn't enjoy free coffee?
I chose Elon because of the Honors Fellows program. I knew that I wanted to perform undergraduate research during my time here, and this program set me up with a cohort of intellectually curious individuals that also wanted to do research in their respective fields.
