My favorite Elon Tradition is .... Because...

My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Lights and Luminaries because it’s so pretty, and the winter weather makes everything feel really cozy and nostalgic. I love how they have apple cider, music, and all the little activities and decorations around campus that make it feel festive and welcoming. It’s one of those events that just feels really special and relaxing, especially at night with all the lights.

My most memorable Elon experience?

My most memorable Elon experience was probably working for commencement this year through my job with Cultural and Special Programs as a stage and audio technician. I got to go up on a lift to help fix some lights, learned a lot about audio and live event production, and had so much fun working with my coworkers throughout the whole process. We would get lunch and dinner at Skids every day, and it was really fun getting to spend time with everyone outside of work and grow closer as a team. I ended up making a lot of great friendships through the experience, and we even had an end of year picnic with the crew, which made the whole thing even more memorable.

I chose Elon because...

I chose Elon University because I originally wanted to pursue psychology, and the school has a really strong psychology program. I was also really interested in the gender-inclusive housing options. I decided to live in the Gender and Sexuality LLC, which made me feel a lot more comfortable and welcomed. Another big reason was the study abroad opportunities and the German program, since I wanted a school that would let me explore different cultures and experiences while studying what I’m interested in.
