I chose Elon because as soon as I set foot on campus, I knew it was the place for me. On my first tour, it was pouring down rain, but it still felt like home. Elon also gave me a lot of opportunities for leadership, even as a first year student, through things like Student Neighborhood Association and other organizations on campus. Elon's community is always there to build you up and support you as well, which is something I found very important when choosing a college.
My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Lights and Luminaries because it means that the winter season has begun. It also is just beautiful to walk around campus, hot chocolate in hand, with all of the lights and luminaries lit up. I always find myself learning something new about different cultures and their winter traditions.
The most memorable experience I've had here so far was getting to be a part of Elon Elite, which was a music fundraiser to raise money for Ukraine. It was filmed like a TV show, in the communication school with a lot of cameras surrounding me while I got to sing for a good cause. Not only was it amazing to be part of something that was raising money for a good cause, but I also got to feel like a rockstar while singing a few of my favorite songs.
