My favorite Elon Tradition is .... Because...

The festival of lights in December because it is a beautiful celebration of all cultures in the spirit of the holidays. The Elon community comes together to enjoy hot chocolate while listening to the origins of holiday traditions and songs of various cultures. Luminaries line the walkways, and the entire campus is decorated with lights. The campus is so vibrant for the remainder of the fall semester.

I chose Elon because...

The sense of community that I experienced the first time I visited campus was inspiring. I knew that when I came to Elon I would be surrounded by people who want to see me succeed because this is a place where students are more than just a number. The small student to faculty ratio creates an environment where students are incredibly well supported through their failures and setbacks. I wouldn't trade this encouraging community for anything.

My most memorable Elon experience?

The hypnotist show on the last day of Orientation because it was a great stress-reliever before the first day of classes. I also attended the show with many people from my hall, and we have been best friends ever since!
