Being an Orientation Leader was my most memorable Elon experience by far. I was able to aid new students in the difficult process of transitioning to college while learning a lot about myself as a leader and as a member of the Elon community. It was an incredible experience that exposed me to many new students and fellow Orientation Leaders who have since become some of my close friends. Being an OL reminded me of all the reasons why I fell in love with Elon in the first place and all the people that make this community so special.
I chose Elon because I knew that study abroad would be a crucial part of my college experience. When I heard the statistics about the percentage of students that study abroad during their time at Elon, I knew my college experience would take place in an environment in which faculty, staff, and other students appreciate the value of experiential learning and would foster my dreams of going abroad so that they could become a reality.
My favorite Elon tradition is Food Truck Frenzy in which the university brings in tons of food trucks for one afternoon each semester. The time and effort that goes into planning and putting on this event always reminds me how much Elon truly cares about its students and its community by facilitating this event that benefits both parties immensely.
