I studied abroad my Junior year in Berlin, Germany. This was such a wonderful experience where I learned and grew so much. I got to practice my german skills and learn about another culture. I got to travel all around Germany and see places like Paris, Prague, Amsterdam, and Salzburg. I would recommend any Elon student to study abroad. It was honestly so eye opening and I've changes into a completely different person in the best way possible.
I wanted to find a liberal arts community that was medium sized, supportive, and will help me grow. That is what Elon is! I feel supported in every way possible and Elon will help me grow and learn these next four years. The professors want you to succeed and you get to have amazing conversations and relationships with them. You are not just a number in a system but a students with goals and achievements. People care about you regardless how well they know you and want to see you strive.
My favorite tradition is the Festival of Lights and Luminaries. Every December, luminaries dedicated to students by friends and family, are set up around the historic part of campus. This turns into a festival of cultural and religious holidays around the world. There is free hot chocolate and apple cider and a fantastic way to welcome the holiday season.
