My most memorable experience was being able to travel throughout the East Coast with the Teaching Fellows during my first-year J-term! I visited places like Charleston, Savannah, and Washington D.C, visiting museums and exploring the cities. It was an incredibly memorable way to hear about history from a lens that has been traditionally omitted from modern education.
My favorite Elon tradition is receiving an acorn on convocation, and then a sapling at graduation. The growth that happens in your four years at Elon is truly best represented using the acorns/saplings, and it is super inspiring. The tradition is sweet as it represents so much: your growth, where you are going to "plant your roots", etc.
I chose Elon because of the sheer amount of opportunities for growth, both academically and socially. Elon is filled with programs that I knew was going to support me and make me comfortable. Elon is also equipped with many tools that any person could need to excel in any way desirable!
