Diversity Ambassadors and Tour Guide at Elon University
Class of 2019
Hometown: McLean, VA
Major: International and Global Studies
Minor: African and African American Studies, Italian Studies, Inter-religious Studies
Being an International and Global Studies major, Elon being number 1 in Study Abroad was a huge pull for me. While touring other schools they had 1 or 2 similar resources that Elon had, but no place tied together resources, experiential learning, and small class sizes the way Elon did. It was the best decision I ever made and I haven't looked back since!
My most memorable Elon Experience was presenting the Elon Common Reading lecturer in 201. I had the honor of introducing Mr. Bryan Stevenson who founded the Equal Justice Initiative. One of my faculty mentors was in charge of hosting the event and asked me to speak. Getting to meet a man on the forefront of advocating for prison reform was incredible. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I am forever grateful. While speaking in front of 1,000 people was nerve racking, Elon is constantly pushing me out of my comfort zone for the better!
My favorite Elon Tradition is hands down College Coffee. Who doesn't love free food!? I love watching all the professors and students mix and mingle in a non academic setting. College Coffee is a great time to see what will be happening on campus throughout at the week while getting to socialize. This tradition definitely makes Elon unique.
