Every year, Tibetan Monks from the Kadampa Center in Raleigh come to campus and create a sand mandala. My junior year, I was lucky enough to get lunch with them and learn about their lives and teachings. It was an incredibly enriching and unique experience.
My favorite Elon tradition is the Turning 21 Dinner. Based off of when a student turns 21, there is a catered dinner to celebrate that milestone. The best part? You choose to attend with a faculty member who has influenced your Elon experience. I love that Elon not only celebrates alongside you but gives you the opportunity to show a staff member how they have contributed to your four years.
...of the culture of community I felt on campus when I took my tour. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and that initial impression of Elon being a community was spot on. This is a place you can call your home, not just your university.
