I chose Elon because of its close-knit, family-like community among both students and professors, as well as the strong support students receive throughout the college experience, including help with applying for opportunities and planning for the future. The campus is beautiful, and from the moment I arrived, it felt like home.
This January, I studied abroad in Turkey with other Honors Fellows, and it was an experience I’ll always cherish. We saw so many amazing places, deepened our understanding of Turkish culture and history, and became incredibly close. I left with unforgettable memories and friendships I know will last.
My favorite Elon tradition is New Student Convocation, where we reflect on the beginning of our college journey and receive an acorn. When we graduate, we are given an oak sapling, symbolizing our growth over our time at Elon. I love the symbolism and the opportunity for reflection—it’s such a special way to both begin and conclude the college experience.
